Areas of Activity

Ruby Red Resources Inc.has a large land position of explored mineral properties in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. Today, Ruby Red holds 100% working interest in 144 mineral claims (approximately 44,000 hectares/109,000 acres). All claims are in good standing in various properties with gold and base metal potential. These claims are all located within 80 kilometres of Cranbrook, British Columbia in the Purcell and Rocky Mountains (Fort Steele Mining Division).

Ruby Red's significant properties are grouped in three blocks and are referred to as:

  • The Rockies: Block of 17,671 ha. located northwest of Cranbrook; Also known as the East Bloc.
  • The Rockies (Robocop): Block of 3,812 ha. located southeast of Cranbrook.
  • The Purcells: Block of 21,871 ha. located west of Cranbrook and which is contiguous with Ruby Red’s Eddy Property; Also known as the West Bloc
  • The Vine: Block of 480 ha. south of Cranbrook

The two larger blocks – the Rockies and Purcells claims – were acquired primarily for gold. They cover numerous gold-associated felsic intrusions within the important Kanasewich Lineament structural break. At least one of the intrusions has large tonnage copper-gold potential. An exceptional PbZnAg “Sullivan look-alike” target exists in the Rockies block, coincident with very high soil geochemistry and ground geophysics anomalies. This project should be “drill-ready” later in 2007 and shows strong potential exposing Ruby Red to a world class opportunity.

The Vine property (approx. 480 ha.) is the most extensively explored of all of Ruby Red Resources’ properties. It covers a diamond drilled lead-zinc-silver-gold deposit of just over 600,000 tonnes (pre NI 43-101). The deposit has not been entirely delineated by the existing drilling and may be larger than currently indicated. This is supported by the shallow drilling Ruby Red did in 2005 which confirmed high grade lead-zinc mineralization as well as higher than expected gold values.

The Robocop property (approx. 3,812 ha.) and adjacent ground have previously been explored by Cominco Ltd., Teck Exploration Ltd. and by Noranda Ltd. Historical work focused on an area of copper mineralization where trenching and some diamond drilling were completed by Teck in 1990. Trench results returned up to 1.93% copper over 6 metres and drilling intersected up to 1.35% copper over 5.48 metres. This drill intersection included 271 ppm (0.027%) cobalt. Cobalt is commonly associated with copper on the property.

In 2006, the Ransom Report (National Instrument 43-101, March 2006) and Walker Report (National Instrument 43-101, April 2005; revised February 2006) detailed the exploration potential of The Rockies, The Purcells and The Vine for four styles of mineralization: (i) structurally controlled gold mineralization, (ii) intrusion-related gold mineralization, (iii) porphyry copper-gold mineralization, and (iv) sandstone-hosted copper deposits.
