Staff Biographies
Gregory
Ewonus, P.Geo. – Chairman of the Board
Greg Ewonus has over 40 years of experience in mining and geological services, and extensive experience with early stage mineral exploration companies and has been a key individual in the development of junior resource companies. He is also President of Merlin Petroleum Services Ltd., a geological wellsite consulting company which he started in 1966. Mr. Ewonus is a former director of Tiberon Minerals Ltd., a former TSX listed company. Mr. Ewonus is registered with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APPEGA).
Gordon Turner,
P.Geo. – President, CEO and Director
Gord Turner has more than 30 years of mineral exploration experience in several Canadian locations including northern Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories, southeastern British Columbia and the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. He has been instrumental in building oil and gas exploration companies through drilling as a geologist as well as leading teams as exploration manager. From November 2003 to May 2008, Mr. Turner was Manager of Exploration for Masters Energy Inc. and from September 1998 to October 2003, he was Manager of Exploration for Sunfire Energy Corp. Mr. Turner is registered with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APPEGA).
Douglas
Anderson, P. Eng. – Director
An engineer, Doug Anderson has worked in the mining industry for 35 years, 29 years were with a major Canadian mining company employed at various locations in Western Canada, in either an operating mine capacity or as an exploration geologist in the East Kootenay region, and the past seven years as a geological consultant working on exploration projects for a variety of junior mining companies. Mr. Anderson graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1969 with a B Sc. in Applied Geological Engineering. Mr. Anderson is a Professional Engineer registered in the Province of B.C. and a fellow of the Geological Association of Canada.
James Scott,
C.A. – CFO and Director (Audit Committee)
A chartered accountant with more than 25 years experience in providing accounting, audit, tax and business advisory services. Mr. Scott is currently managing partner of Hudson & Company LLP, one of Alberta’s largest independent Chartered Accounting firms. Mr. Scott is a former director of two publicly traded companies.
Kelly Kerr – Director
(Audit Committee)
Mr. Kerr is Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Action Energy Inc. a TSX Venture Exchange listed company. Mr. Kerr brings over 25 years of financial, restructuring and management experience in private and public companies.
Adam Scott – Director
(Audit Committee)
Adam Scott began his involvement with Ruby Red Resources in 2002 as business manager. He has worked extensively with small and startup organizations over the past ten years assisting them with their financial requirements and management. Mr. Scott brings entrepreneurial experience as the previous owner/operator of his own business as well as operational involvement with a high-tech startup in Calgary in which he was a Director.
Jeffrey
A. Helper – Secretary
Jeffrey Helper is the secretary of Ruby Red. Mr. Helper has been a partner at the law firm of Tingle Merrett LLP since 2003, prior to which he was an associate with the law firm of Bennett Jones LLP. Mr. Helper has acted as corporate secretary for companies in both the private and public sectors.
Randall
R. Tronsgard –VP Corporate Development
Randall R. Tronsgard has more than 25 years of experience as an investment analyst and advisor plus seven years in investor relations. Mr. Tronsgard has worked with public companies providing market awareness, managing shareholder communication programs and assisting them in meeting their financial requirements.
J. Dawn
Ewonus – VP Administration
Vice President of Administration, Dawn Ewonus has more than 20 years of office management and administrative experience. Most recently, she has worked with small to mid size organizations and start up businesses in a variety of industries assisting them in their initial development. Prior to that, Ms. Ewonus was Manager of Merlin Petroleum Services Ltd. for 13 years.
Peter Klewchuk,
P. Geo. – Field Manager
With more than 30 years experience as a mineral exploration geologist, Peter Klewchuk is Ruby Red’s Field Manager. Mr. Klewchuk has conducted precious metal and base mineral exploration primarily in southeastern British Columbia and NWT. Additionally, he has over 10 years experience as a mineral exploration geologist with Cominco Ltd., a major Canadian mining company, at Sullivan Mine in the Kootenay Gold Belt with additional projects in Greenland, NWT (Pine Point) and the USA.
Craig Kennedy – Field Manager
Craig Kennedy is a third generation professional prospector who has been actively prospecting for the past 27 years. Mr. Kennedy has worked extensively in the East and West Kootenays of British Columbia as well as the N.W.T. and Nevada for both junior and major mining companies. Mr. Kennedy was a founding member of the placer gold producing Moyie Mining Co. and the junior mineral exploration company Chapleau Resources Ltd.
